PARKLAND, Wash. - Ian Williams scored a career-high eight goals, as The College of Idaho rallied from a 4-0 first quarter deficit to defeat Pacific Lutheran, 16-11, in a Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League match-up at East Field.
The win helped the Coyotes (2-0) complete a perfect opening weekend in Washington, using a 63-41 edge in total shots, including a commanding 21-5 edge in the third quarter, as C of I outscored the Lutes 7-2, to erase a 9-6 halftime deficit.
Austin Mendiola added four goals and two assists and Patrick Erstad had four goals and an assist in the victory, with Ryan Gibson recording 11 saves for the Yotes.
The C of I returns to action next weekend with a road game at Central Washington.
