C of I 14th in Final Fall Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The College of Idaho was honored today by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics today, finishing the fall season in the Top-25 of the prestigious Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.

The Coyotes placed 14th overall in the NAIA standings among the nearly 300 schools in the association, earning 149 points in the all-sports tabulation. Points are awarded throughout the 2013-14 season based on each institution's finish in national competition in up to 12 sports -- six women's and six men's. Through the fall season, teams have earned points in football, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball.

Coyote volleyball and both cross country teams earned points in the tabulation – volleyball placing in a tie for 25th nationally (receiving 25 points), women' s cross country placing second (receiving 90 points), and men's cross country placing 20th (receiving 34 points).

Grand View (Iowa) holds the overall Directors' Cup lead with 226 points, Olivet Nazarene (Ill) with 225 points, Concordia (Calif.) with 206, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) with 203.5, and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) with 202.50.

British Columbia leads all Northwest teams in 10th place, followed by the Yotes, No. 15 Lewis-Clark State, No. 18 Carroll, and No. 25 Rocky Mountain. Five other Cascade Conference teams are among the Top-100 in the standings – No. 28 Concordia (Ore.), No. 34 Southern Oregon, No. 56 Northwest Christian, No. 60 Eastern Oregon, and No. 81 Corban.
