Lady Yote Harriers Finish Season Ranked #2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The College of Idaho climbed one spot to No. 2 in the NAIA Women's Cross Country Postseason Top-25 Coaches' Poll, released today's by the NAIA sports information office.

The mark for the national runner-up Lady Yotes was the highest poll position not only in program history, but the highest position in the Top-25 poll of any C of I women's team.  The Yotes had been ranked No. 3 on five different occasions - including four straight weeks this season, while the 2000-01 women's basketball team elevated to No. 4 and the volleyball team has climbed as high as No. 6 in the poll on multiple occasions.  The highest-ranking ever by a C of I team was the 1992-93 men's basketball squad, which opened the season ranked No. 1, as did the 1999 baseball team.

The Lady Yotes received 452 voter points from the 17 conference and unaffiliated raters who submitted a ballot.  National champion, British Columbia took the top spot, followed by The C of I, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), Cal State San Marcos, and Carroll (Mont.).  Eastern Oregon finished ranked No. 13, Northwest Christian was No. 14, and Concordia (Ore.) was ranked No. 16.

The C of I will finish the season ranked in the Top-25 for the fifth-straight year.
