KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The College of Idaho was ranked No. 11 in the 2012 Posteseason NAIA Top-25 Men's Cross Country Coaches' Poll, released this afternoon by the NAIA sports information office.
The Coyotes, coming off an 11th-place finish at Saturday's NAIA National Championships, earned 296 voter points from the 16 conference and independent raters that took part in the balloting. It marked the second-highest finish for the Yotes in the final NAIA poll, as the 2009 squad finished the season at No. 8 (the postseason poll debuted in 2011).
National champ, St. Francis (Ill.) earned the top spot, followed by Southern Oregon, Cal State San Marcos, Oklahoma Baptist, and Aquinas (Mich.). Cascade Conference rival Eastern Oregon was No. 14, with Concordia at No. 17.
It marked the sixth-straight season and the seventh time in the nine years of the reinstated program, that the Coyotes have finished the season ranked in the NAIA Top-25.
